Chick-fil-A and OCC Shoebox Campaign

http://www.crestwoodchurch.org/uploads/OCCLogo_resized.jpgIt is such an honor to partner with Chick-fil-A in the distribution & collection of Gospel Opportunity shoeboxes for children around the world which will enable the Gospel of Jesus to be spread.

Nineteen Chick-fil-A stores in the Richmond Metro area will offer empty OCC shoeboxes to the community on Thursday, November 2nd; a week later, they will accept filled shoeboxes on Thursday, November 9th with volunteers assisting at both events.

November 2nd - Distribution Day

November 9th - Collection Day

At each restaurant location, 2 Shoebox Ambassadors are requested for the lunch and dinner time frames to pass out OCC pamphlets and empty shoeboxes. Due to anticipated volume at some restaurants, a Shoebox Coordinator and a Shoebox Folder have been added to keep things running smoothly.

Volunteer Roles:

Shoebox Ambassador.  The most important skill required for this volunteer position is a friendly smile and a gracious spirit! Ambassadors will answer questions about the Operation Christmas Child ministry, distribute empty shoeboxes as needed, and explain the timeline for returning the shoeboxes at the restaurant next week.  As some locations may be quite busy, you may want to wear comfortable shoes and plan to stand during your volunteer shift.  On Collection Day the Ambassador collects the shoeboxes and gives the donor a coupon for a Chick-fil-A sandwich.

Shoebox Collector/Transporter (Collection Day).  This role requires a bit more legwork, as most locations will require that boxes move quickly to a vehicle or other staging area.  The Collector/Transporter will be responsible for transporting the shoeboxes to a predetermined location following the event.

Shoebox Coordinator & ShoeBox Folder.  Some of the Chick-fil-A restaurants have challenged themselves to reach higher in sharing this Gospel Opportunity with more of their customers.  To support their innovative plan, we are adding an extra volunteer to make sure everything is moving smoothly (Coordinator) and a person to build GO boxes (Folder) that will be distributed through the drive-thru window.
