About the Program

Our Spring Volleyball League is open to boys and girls, ages 11 - 15 (essentially, grades 5th - 9th with age criterion defined by birth dates ranging from September 1 through August 31 of eligible birth years).  The league is split into two divisions, grouped by age. League registration opens in January, and the season begins in March and continues through May.

The mission of the league is to provide a positive sports experience and promote growth and development in an affirming environment. Players are exposed to the sport of volleyball and provided the opportunity to hone skills and increase knowledge of the sport. Coaches also utilize the sport setting to teach character traits and biblical virtues, which aid in player's overall development.  Plus, the atmosphere is one of encouragement and fun!

Before the season begins, every player completes the mandatory skill assessment, which aids in the formation of balanced teams promoting healthy competition and positive development. Each team practices once per week for one hour and matches are played on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons. (Depending on the number of teams within the division, some teams may have double-headers on some weeks). Matches are comprised of three consecutive games, and all players experience equal playing time.

At the end of the season, a league-wide season celebration is held, and each participant receives a league gift. This fun event allows league families to come together in order to honor all participants, players and coaches, and celebrate all accomplished and experienced over the course of the season.

Dates and information regarding our Spring season will be available in the near future. Online registration will open late January 2018. If you would like to learn more about the program, please contact the Recreation Office.
