Fall Basketball Skills Academy

This September, our Fall Basketball Skills Academy is returning! Two Master Coaches are teaming up to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our Academy participants.

The program is open for boys and girls in 4th through 8th grade.  The Basketball Skills Academy will prove to be an excellent way to focus on and further develop key fundamentals of the game in order to hone and enhance skills.  The environment will also be one of encouragement and specialized training, with the sport focus on skill development.

In addition to teaching skills through instructional drills, the Academy will focus on teaching life-skills and virtues based in Scripture to the participants as well.  We believe sports offer a tremendous and natural way to connect with youth and provide an opportunity to teach skills and build character both on and off the court.

About the Coaches:

Master Coaches, Becca and Dan Taylor, both bring extensive coaching and playing experience to the Basketball Skills Academy. Coach Becca currently serves as the Director of BC3 Sports Camps, which strives to meet players at their current skill level and help propel them along in their game, while also instilling meaningful character traits with each young athlete.

Coach Becca is a graduate of Cosby High School in Chesterfield, Virginia, where she excelled in the classroom and both on the soccer field and basketball court. Becca is also a graduate of the University of Richmond, where she thrived as a four-year student-athlete in both basketball and soccer. Her soccer career at U of R was marked by receiving accolades such as the 2010 A-10 Rookie of the Year, 2011 A-10 Player of the Year, and 2011 First Team All-American. In basketball, she also was named the A-10 Conference Most-Improved Player for the 2012-2013 season. Within her college career, she also played soccer at the international level as a member of the 2012 US Women's U-20 National Team, winning a gold medal in the U-20 World Cup in Japan in 2012.

Coach Dan is a graduate of the University of Richmond, where he served as the President for the Men's Club Basketball team. He's coached high school basketball in Pittsburgh, PA, and is currently serving as the Assistant Coach for the Boys' Varsity team at Midlothian High School.

Together, Master Coaches, Becca and Dan, bring knowledge and experience and make for a well-rounded team of coaches.
