Reaching Out

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations [ethnic peoples], baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Mt 28:19-20

Missions has been a strength and remains a priority for the people of Crestwood Church. As followers of Jesus Christ we are called to missions. The mandate is crystal clear: Go and make disciples. For some, "go" means starting a neighborhood Bible study, praying for unreached peoples, serving on a short-term mission trip or rallying other Christians for missions involvement.  Not all believers have been given the same kingdom task, but all are called to fulfill the Great Commission.

While we continue our international and domestic work, we equally recognize the role of evangelism in our own community and neighborhoods.  We invite you to inquire about upcoming mission trips, local outreaches, educational opportunities, prayer, and other practical ways to contribute your gifts

International Missions

The global mission work of Crestwood is coordinated by our Mission Builders team.  This group arranges the mission trips, financial commitment to missions and the reports that are regularly given to the congregation about missions around the world connected to Crestwood.

The goal of Mission Builders is to educate and mobilize all believers to faithfulness in fulfilling the Great Commission.  We endeavor to shape a world vision through prayer and education and to strengthen a world mission through exposure and opportunity.

Our longstanding commitment to missions also takes us to foreign lands. We send a team of our members to Haiti each year. Our Youth have ministered in Mexico and Jamaica. We have an exciting partnership with a vibrant congregation in Russia. In addition, we round out our world vision by supporting missionaries in Zambia, Latvia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and India.

Local and Domestic Ministry

At Crestwood, we are committed to seeing every member involved in missions. Locally, working through several Richmond organizations, church members freely give their time, skills and resources to nurture and provide for the less fortunate.

Crestwood sends adult and youth mission teams to areas of material and spiritual poverty within the United States. From Appalachia to the inner-city of Philadelphia, we have reached out to and worked alongside those in need.
